A Family Trip to remember
After getting a job in Delhi, I became very far from my family and hardly could attend any of family functions. But I mostly try to attend the important functions with all family members as one of the trip with my cousins made me realize the importance of spending time with family. Just sharing the trip journey and conversation with one of my cousins which was an eye opener for me and which made me started thinking positively.
In my previous articles, I mentioned how I was successful in fulfilling my career goal and got an opportunity to work with one of the top multinational companies in India. But since my company is located in Northern part of India, I have to stay away from my family. We had a family trip to Tirupati two years back along with couple of my cousins. Fortunately I got a leave for one week and said yes to join this trip.
It was a trip with my family and my cousins who are staying with their parents in their home town. Inspite of completing engineering, they continue to live with their parents and enjoy looking after family business along with training to graduate students. To mention about my cousin, he completed his Btech in 2008 and was one of the toppers from his college. Even though he got campus placed, he didn’t join the company and finished his Mtech along with looking after our family business.
Before that meeting, I always felt that he doesn’t know how to live life and he is wasting his skills. Having been grown up good culture, togetherness, emotions, feelings may be the reason he was not be able to enjoy the new job which he has got even though there are more facilities and much more to learn. But the response he gave on that day was an eye opener.
He said the most important success he has achieved is spending time with his parents who always cared for his entire life. Also by providing coaching to graduation students, he feels himself accomplishing his dream of providing career path for future students of India. I was quite impressed by the way he shared his success story and how he feels happy with his family. Even with his lecturer salary, he managed to purchase a house by exploring various options on web such as www.housing.com.
After the discussion with him, I realized the importance of spending time with family and importance of loved ones. They are the one who look after us in happiness and sorrows. They care for us and it is our responsibility to take care of them for entire life. Whenever I have the chance to take a leave, I take permission from my manager and visit home town thus spending time with my family.
